General information of Chinese taper roller bearings
Taper roller bearing is one of the most popular bearings exported from China. We say it’s simple is because of it’s structure and craft, matched cup and cone sets. There are countless factories producing taper roller bearings in China, but very few are considered “reliable” factories. Low quality taper roller bearings rampant in market. Mostly from Shandong province, difference on quality is as big as the prices.
1. Material source
As most customers know “GCr15” is the bearing steel, but is the material same from factory to factory?
Of course not, prices of bearing steel has big difference from factory to factory. Some small steel factory from Shandong are not qualified but it has no name other than “GCr15”,
2. Ring formation
Most taper roller bearings are using pipes to make the rings, but some of Findbearing’s supplier are using forged parts. The rings made of pipe is generally less anti-friction compared with rings made of forged parts, when draging pipes, the material density and formation is inavoidably changed.
For OEM supplies on small sizes, forged parts is prefered but not required. Depending on the final application, the quality difference mainly resulted in difference of the bearing life length.
3. Crafts and Equipment
Some factories do not even grind the bearing rib, to save cost, the beaing raceway can also be not superfinished. Equipment also decided what quality level the factory can meet.
4. Parts quality
Rollers can be with or without superfinish, price different roller factories can also be over 30~40% different on cost. The same as bearing cage, anti-rust oil etc.
All above listed, choose the worse choice, still there could be worse product in market. No super finish, rib not grinded, cheap material and parts could still be “okay” to use taper roller bearings. But for users and customer who mind about quality, and think long term business, there will be many factors to be considered. And sometimes, factories are also doing trading business, producing various types of bearings, not reliable.
Advantages and suitable customer range.

P0 grade mainly, pipe material, general quality stable. Have been used on OEM application for nearly 10 years without problem. Economic choice.
2. Mid size (I.D. 35mm to 140mm) Metrc taper roller bearing.
Using only forged parts. Neglected labor cost, only producing metric taper roller bearings. Tolerance grade mainly on P0 grade, a few small size types has P6 grade production regularly. Extremely economic on mid size taper roller bearings, price advantages are big. Quality stable.
3. Metric & Inch series taper roller bearing factory.
P6~P5 grade taper roller bearings for OEM application. Able to test virbration and noise, roughness, end jump. Price much higher than average factories(P0 grade), but very competitive when comparing with p5 grade factories.
